MicroMeter™ 2 - Precision 2-Part Dispenser

Small, yet accurate
 

The MicroMeter™ 2 is a complete meter – mix system for dispensing very small micro shots (0.02 – 3.52cc’s) or beads of two component adhesives or sealants at the point of application.

Lightweight, compact, and readily fixtured, the positive displacement MicroMeter™ 2 dispenses exactly metered and mixed micro-shots of mixed materials on demand.

Flexible
The meter’s design allows the user to adjust the amount of mixed material that is dispensed each shot. The calibrated stroke tower provides exact shot size control. The shot size adjustment range depends on the mix ratio and meter maximum volume. Your target shot size is typically 75% of the meter’s total capacity.

Metering at the point of application eliminates numerous problems associated with high precision metering. By locating the meter at the point of application, accuracy and consistency for the very small volumes is assured.

Precision components
The system’s power inlet and outlet valves, with carbide components, eliminate any material bypass that might alter the mix ratio.  Its hardened and ground meter cylinders and displacement rods insure precise volumetric metering of high to low viscosity materials with volumetric mix ratio’s up to 10:1 (pbv).  The meter’s hard stop insures that exactly the same amount is dispensed – time after time.

Mixing & Clean Cut Off
Material components remain separate until they enter the mixer. Mixing with our Low cost, No-Flush™ disposable plastic mixer nozzle eliminates the need to solvent flush the mixer.

Controls
With its proximity sensors and remote PLC interface control panel, the system is ready to be integrated into an automated production operation. Air logic controls are available on request. The MicroMeter™ 2’s design includes fixturing and locating / alignment holes. Multiple systems can be fixture mounted to direct carrying amounts of a 2-component material onto different parts of an assembly – simultaneously – see picture to right.

Operation
Close coupled positive displacement meter rods, powered by a common air cylinder, displace proportioned volumes of resin and hardener out through the disposable static mixer / nozzle initiated by your dispense signal.

Shot Size and Range
Shot size is achieved by adjusting the stroke length of the meter rods. The hard stop design insures accuracy and consistency, shot after shot. The MicroMeter™ 2 is capable of dispensing from 0.02cc up to 3.52cc (other shot sizes considered on request). The system is configured to dispense your target shot size, with some adjustability.

Dispense Flow Rate
The dispense rate is precisely controlled by inlet and outlet flow control valves. This feature permits you to integrate the MicroMeter™ 2’s operation with your automation to produce precisely sized shots or small beads of mixed material.

Positive Shut-Off
The MicroMeter™ 2’s closing action insures a positive shut-off at the mixer nozzle tip whether dispensing high or low viscosity materials.

Material Supply
The resin components must be supplied to the meter under pressure.  A wide range of available options include material cartridges, pressure supply tanks, and supply pumps.
